AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Package
Build a confident, well-mannered puppy while working toward the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy title.
Service Description
The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy program is designed to help puppies develop the foundation skills needed to grow into confident, well-mannered adult dogs. This training package focuses on building positive habits early while guiding owners through the important stages of puppy development. S.T.A.R. stands for Socialization, Training, Activity, and Responsibility — the key elements that help puppies learn how to navigate the world successfully. During this program, we work through age-appropriate skills that teach puppies how to focus, respond to their owners, and behave calmly in new situations. Training sessions focus on creating clear communication between owner and puppy while developing essential life skills such as: • Attention and engagement with the owner • Polite greetings without jumping • Sit, down, and beginning stay • Walking politely on leash • Recall (coming when called) • Comfortable handling and grooming • Appropriate behavior around people and other dogs • Exposure to new environments and distractions • Building confidence and impulse control In addition to working on these behaviors, owners receive guidance on important topics such as socialization, puppy development, and how to prevent common behavior issues before they become long-term problems. This program is ideal for puppies who are beginning their training journey and for owners who want to build a strong foundation from the start. As an AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy evaluator, Bridger K9 can administer the official AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test once your puppy demonstrates the required skills. Puppies who pass will earn the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy medal and certificate. The goal of this program is not only to prepare puppies for the AKC title, but to help owners raise a confident, well-adjusted dog that is enjoyable to live with and ready for future training.
